We are hiring: MAPP Analyst

At GEOLYTIX we seek new and innovative ways to make spatial analytics accessible, exciting and indispensable. 

Our customers span the retail, property, leisure and food & beverage industries, in and outside the UK. We support our customers in network planning, site location & estate rationalisation. We build innovative spatial data and are passionate about the open data community. 

We build in-house solutions on our open-source XYZ framework, which underpins our online mapping platform (MAPP). Using MAPP, we combine various forecasting methods, statistical models and a range of data to create bespoke solutions tailored to each client. We build bespoke web mapping tools for our customers that combine their data with ours and third party datasets. Each client has different requirements and a different specification. 

We are looking for a person with a passion for spatial data and maps. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a first class team and develop with us. We are always looking to do things better.


The Role 

This role involves two primary responsibilities:

  1. Custom Web Mapping Configuration: Tailoring web mapping solutions to meet specific customer needs, ensuring they are both visually appealing and aligned with client expectations.
  2. SQL Database Management: Migrating data between various databases within the organisation. Optimising data layers for fast loading in MAPP. Developing spatial queries to generate valuable insights.

Ideal Skills

  • SQL (or equivalent) is a must
  • Knowledge of spatial data 
  • Familiarity with GIS and web-GIS would be desirable
  • Experience of visualising data
  • Experienced in JavaScript, HTML, CSS would be desirable
